Bracebridge

Town and administrative headquarters of Muskoka District Municipality, south-central Ontario, Canada, on the Muskoka River, 153 km/95 mi north of Toronto; population (1991) 12,300. It is a summer resort. There are tanneries, lumber mills, boatworks, and brickworks; furniture, textiles, rope, and car parts are also manufactured.

The town harnessed local waterpower and established a number of industries towards the end of the 19th century.
