Bradford, Samuel Clement

    0.07 sec.

Bradford, Samuel Clement (1876–1948)

British librarian and documentalist who pioneered the use of the Universal Decimal Classification and the work of the International Federation for Documentation (FID). He edited the English edition of the Universal Decimal Classification for the British Standards Institute and cofounded the British Society for International Bibliography, later merged with the Association of Special Libraries and Information Bureaux (ASLIB).

Bradford saw the need for a national bibliographical network and his work at the Science Library laid the foundation of the service now provided by the British Library.
