Brancaster

Village in Norfolk, England, 29 km/18 mi northeast of King's Lynn; population (2001) 1,500. It stands on the ancient site of the Roman fort of Branodunum. The parish of Brancaster includes Brancaster Staithe and Deepdale, a fishing village with a harbour from which boats depart for Scolt Head Island, now a nature reserve belonging to the National Trust.
