Brand Development Index

Index measuring the relative strength of a brand in a given geographical area. The BDI is calculated by dividing the percentage of national brand sales that are made in a particular area by the percentage of the total population that resides in that area. The index should be expressed as a whole number and it is assumed that the total population has a value of 100.
