Braun, Victor (1935- )

Canadian baritone. He made his debut in 1961, as Escamillo in Bizet's Carmen, and his European debut in Frankfurt, in 1963. He sang Hamlet in the first performance at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, of Searle's opera, and his other roles have included Don Giovanni, Almaviva, Germont, Posa, and Onegin. He sang at Florence from 1987 as Sachs and Debussy's Golaud, and in 1990 appeared at Santa Fe, in the US premiere of Judith by S Matthus.
