    0.04 sec.

Bream, Julian Alexander (1933- )

English guitar and lute virtuoso. He has revived much Elizabethan lute music and encouraged composition by contemporaries for both instruments. English composers Benjamin Britten, Michael Tippett, and William Walton, and German composer Hans Werner Henze have all written for him. In 1961 he formed the Julian Bream Consort, specializing in early ensemble music.

A protégé of Spanish virtuoso Andrés Segovia, he made his London, England, debut in 1950.
