Breckenridge

Town and administrative headquarters of Summit County, central Colorado, 34 km/21 mi northeast of Leadville and just southeast of the Gore Range; population (1990) 1,300. It is a trade centre and resort, set among mountains with ski slopes.

It was a mining town in the 1860s boom and has a large Victorian historic district.
