Breeders' Cup

End-of-season horse race meeting in the USA, consisting of eight races. Leading horses from the USA and Europe compete for around US$13 million in prize money, the top prize going to the winner of the Breeders' Cup Classic. It was first held in 1984.

In 2001 the prize money for the Breeders' Cup Classic was US$4 million.
