Brewer, Bruce (1944– )

US tenor. He studied at Texas University, Austin, and with Richard Bonynge. His career began in concert and he made his stage debut in San Antonio, in 1970, as Ottavio; he later sang at Boston and San Francisco. He appeared at Düsseldorf and Berlin, and at the Aix Festival was heard in Campra. He developed into a Baroque specialist and has sung roles in Rameau's Les Indes Galantes and Zoroastre. In 1992 he sang Truffaldino in Turandot by Busoni at Lyons.
