Bridge of Allan

Town and former burgh in Stirling unitary authority, Scotland, situated on the lower southern slopes of the Ochil Hills, on the River Allan, 5 km/3 mi north of Stirling; population (2001) 5,150. In the 1820s a health spa developed around the Airthrey mineral springs, and Bridge of Allan grew from a village to a small town. It remains an attractive tourist centre.
