Bridport

Market town in Dorset, England; population (2001) 9,400. It is situated between the rivers Brit and Asker, 2 km/1.2 mi from the sea. There is a harbour at West Bay which is a boating, yachting, and fishing centre. Bridport is mentioned in the Domesday Book. In 1253 Henry III granted it a charter making it a royal borough.
