Brilioth, Helge (1931- )

Swedish tenor, formerly baritone. He made his debut at Drottningholm in 1958, as Paisiello's Bartolo, and sang further baritone roles in Germany before making his tenor debut in Stockholm in 1965, as Don José. He has sung Siegmund at Bayreuth and Siegfried at Salzburg, and since 1970 has sung these roles plus Tristan and Parsifal at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London. He also sang Parsifal at the New York Metropolitan Opera House in 1970, and Bacchus at Glyndebourne in 1971.
