Flatfish Scophthalmus laevis, living in shallow water over sandy bottoms in the northeastern Atlantic and Mediterranean. It is a freckled sandy brown, and grows to 60 cm/2 ft.

Village in Buckinghamshire, England, 16 km/10 mi west of Aylesbury; population (2001) 2,700. Brill has an old windmill and a Norman parish church.
