Brill, Abraham A (Arden) (1874–1948)

Spanish-born US psychoanalyst and translator. In 1908 he became the first Freudian psychoanalyst in the USA. He is best known as the translator of Sigmund Freud's works into English, including the compendium The Basic Writings of Sigmund Freud (1938).

He was born in Kanezuga, Galicia and emigrated to the USA at age 15. He took his medical degree at Columbia University in 1903.
