Brissot, Jacques Pierre (1754–1793)
French revolutionary leader, born in Chartres. He became a member of the legislative assembly and the National Convention, but his party of moderate republicans, the Girondins, or Brissotins, fell foul of Robespierre, and Brissot was guillotined.
