Britain

Island off the northwest coast of Europe, one of the British Isles. It comprises England, Scotland, and Wales (together officially known as Great Britain), and is part of the United Kingdom. The name is also sometimes used loosely to denote the United Kingdom. It is derived from the Roman name for the island Britannia, which in turn is derived from the ancient Celtic name for the inhabitants, Bryttas.
