British Lions

Rugby union side selected from the best players in the British Isles for tours of Australia, New Zealand or South Africa. The first tour by a British side representing two or more countries took place in 1888, however the first one composed of players from all four Home Unions (England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales) occurred in 1910. To wear the red shirt of the British Lions is considered one of the highest honours in the game.
