Broglie, (Louis César Victor) Maurice de (1875-1960)

French physicist. He worked on X-rays and gamma rays, and helped to establish the Einsteinian description of light in terms of photons. He was the brother of Louis de Broglie.

Maurice, after a short naval career, equipped an extensive private laboratory at the family home, where he was assisted by his brother Louis. Maurice pioneered the study of X-ray spectra.
