Once it became apparent that the Binghamton area would be severely hit late Tuesday night, June 27, the Red Cross swung into gear, contacting the Broome County Emergency Services, who then called us to ask if we would be willing to offer shelter to evacuees," says Gail Glover, director of media relations at the university. These improvements will improve the safety of the traveling public, reduce costly delays, and provide an easier, more convenient commute for the people of Broome County. Two outstanding supportive housing tenants, Steven Fernandez, a resident at The Times Square in Manhattan, and Anna Sezenias, a resident at the YWCA of Binghamton & Broome County, were also honored. |
