Brott, Alexander (1915-2005)

Canadian composer, conductor, and violinist. He studied at Juilliard and at McGill University, Montreal, taught at Montreal from 1939, and founded a chamber orchestra, giving the first performances of Canadian works. He made many arrangements of German Classical repertory.
