Brown, Clifford

Brown, Clifford (1930–1956)

US jazz musician who played trumpet with Lionel Hampton, Tadd Dameron, and Art Blakey in 1953–54. He then co-led a successful modern jazz quintet with Max Roach. He was killed in a car crash in 1956.

He was born in Wilmington, Delaware.
