Brown, Tony (1933– )

US television presenter and producer known for looking critically at issues facing black Americans. He joined National Educational Television's newsmagazine, Black Journal, in 1970, and became presenter and executive producer of Tony Brown's Journal in 1978.

He was born in Charleston, West Virginia, and became a journalist in Detroit, later becoming dean of Howard University's School of Communications 1971–72.
