Bruchsal

City in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, 20 km/12 mi northwest of Karlsruhe; population (1994) 40,100. Bruchsal is an important railway junction and has metallurgical, chemical, paper, and textile industries. The city has a baroque castle and church.
