Brundtland Report

The findings of the World Commission on Environment and Development, published in 1987 as Our Common Future. It stressed the necessity of environmental protection and popularized the phrase ‘sustainable development’. The commission was chaired by the Norwegian prime minister Gro Harlem Brundtland.

Strong helped create the concept of "sustainable development" as a member of the UN-aligned Brundtland Commission in 1987.
