Brunswick County

Brunswick County

County in southern Virginia, on the North Carolina border; area 1,458 sq km/563 sq mi; population (1990) 16,000. Its capital is Lawrenceville. Rural in character, the county gave its name in the mid-19th century to Brunswick stew, said to have been invented by local hunters.
