Brynmawr

Town in Blaenau Gwent, south Wales, 22 km/14 mi southwest of Brecon; population (2001) 14,700. A former mining and steel centre, it now has mainly light industries. It is at the head of several industrial valleys, and lies north of Ebbw Vale and the agricultural areas of Gwent. The Boilerhouse Theatre occupies the premises of the former Brynmawr Rubber Factory.
