Buchli, James Frederick (1945– )

US astronaut. He made four space shuttle flights, including the German Spacelab mission aboard Challenger, which was launched in October 1985 with a crew of eight, the largest team launched into space. Buchli became an astronaut in 1979. He retired as an astronaut in 1992 and joined the Boeing Defense and Space Group.
