Buchwald, (Arthur) Art (1925–2007)

US journalist. Starting as a columnist for the European edition of the Herald Tribune, covering the lighter side of Paris life, he later moved to Washington, DC, and his syndicated column of wry political humour eventually appeared in some 550 papers worldwide.

He was born in Mount Vernon, New York, and grew up in foster homes after his mother was admitted to a psychiatric hospital during his infancy.
