Bude

Seaside resort on the north coast of Cornwall, England, situated 2.5 km/1.5 mi west of Stratton; population (2001) 4,700. The town stands some distance behind its sandy beach. Bude Castle, built in 1850, was the residence of the inventor Goldsworthy Gurney.
