Bunbury

Port in Western Australia, on the Leschenault Estuary, 186 km/116 mi south of Perth; population (1996) 24,945. It is the second-largest urban area in Western Australia (after Perth), and it is a major commercial industrial and shipping centre for the southwest of the State. Exports include woodchips, mineral sands, alumina, and general cargo. Bunbury is a popular tourist location, mainly for residents of the south of Western Australia.
