Bundaberg

Port in Queensland, Australia, near the mouth of the River Burnett, 375 km/233 mi north of Brisbane; population (1996) 41,025. Situated at the centre of Queensland's largest sugar-cane growing area, it has large sugar factories, and its products include Bundaberg Rum. Surrounding the city is the Burnett River Plains District, a region of canefields and horticultural crops known as the ‘Salad Bowl of Queensland’.

Dr Patel, a former surgeon at Bundaberg Base Hospital, will face a jury trial on three manslaughter and two grievous bodily harm charges from March 22 next year, The Courier Mail reports.
Ian Previte, 32, was convicted last October of the murder and robbery of 19-year-old Miss Stuttle, from York in the eastern Australian city of Bundaberg, Queensland, on April 10 2002.
He thanked the people of Bundaberg and those all over the world who had sent him letters of support and prayers.
