Bungay

Market town in north Suffolk, England; population (2001) 4,900. It is situated on the River Waveney, 22 km/14 mi west of Lowestoft. Bungay has a large printing works. It has two parish churches, an octagonal market cross, and the ruins of a Norman castle built by the Earl of Norfolk in 1165.

The tower of the church of St Mary dates from the late 15th century.
