Buovo d'Antona

Opera by Tommaso Traetta (libretto by Carlo Goldoni, based on the Anglo-Norman 13th-century romance), first produced at the Teatro San Moisè, Venice, Italy, on 27 December 1758. It was revived in Venice in 1993, in edition by Alan Curtis. The plot describes how the knight Buovo returns from exile to unite with Druisina and drive out the evil Duke Maccabuono.
