Buraida

Town in the central part of Nejd region, Saudi Arabia, 330 km/205 mi northwest of Riyadh; population (1993) 255,800. It is the chief trading centre for the Qasim oasis. The local tribes of Buraida were instrumental in assisting Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud to establish the state of Saudi Arabia.
