Burdett, Allen Mitchell, Jr (1921-1980)

US pilot. He helped test newly developed air mobility tactics as commander of the aviation group of the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam 1965-66. He subsequently directed the Army Aviation School and commanded the 5th Army.

He was born in Washington, DC, and graduated from West Point in 1943. He retired in 1978.
