Burdett, Allen Mitchell, Jr

Burdett, Allen Mitchell, Jr (1921–1980)

US pilot. He helped test newly developed air mobility tactics as commander of the aviation group of the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam 1965–66. He subsequently directed the Army Aviation School and commanded the 5th Army.

He was born in Washington, DC, and graduated from West Point in 1943. He retired in 1978.
