Burle Marx, Roberto

    0.02 sec.

Burle Marx, Roberto (1909–1994)

Brazilian landscape architect. His work exploited the vivid colours of tropical plants to create spacious painterly landscapes of rhythmic abstract form. Exemplary are the Garden-Yacht Club, Pampulha, 1943, and Del-Este Park, Caracas, 1956. The setting for the new capital of Brasilia, designed by Lucio Costa (1902–98), owes much to his designs.
