Burlington County

Burlington County

County in south-central New Jersey, bounded to the west by the Delaware River; area 2,093 sq km/808 sq mi; population (1990) 395,100. It is the largest county in the state. Its capital is Mount Holly. The northwest contains residential suburbs of Trenton and Camden; towns include Willingboro, Burlington, and Bordentown. The heavily wooded, partially agricultural central and southern areas contain large parts of the Wharton, Lebanon, Penn, and Bass River state forests.

McGuire Air Force Base and a portion of Fort Dix are in the northeast.
