Burnaby

District municipality (Greater Vancouver Regional District) in southwestern British Columbia, Canada, between Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River, adjacent to New Westminster and Vancouver; population (1991) 158,900. A commercial, industrial, and residential centre, it has varied industries including trucking facilities, lumber and paper mills, and manufacture of steel and telecommunications equipment.
