Burton, John (1730-1782)

English harpsichordist, pianist, organist, and composer. He was a pupil of Keeble, became a very famous player and had a great success in Germany in 1754, where he became acquainted with the newly designed fortepianos. He composed sonatas for all his instruments, but only one keyboard concerto survives.
