B2B

In computing, any electronic commerce system enabling businesses to exchange information, such as purchase orders, invoices, stock levels, and goods such as stock and equipment, between one business and another, using the Internet. The advantages are increased speed and reduced cost, although because the Internet is a public network, security remains a major concern for developers of B2B systems. B2B can be contrasted with B2C (business to consumer) transactions. Two common examples of B2B Web sites are procurement exchanges for sourcing equipment and goods, and industry-specific vertical portals, or vortals.
