Busnois, Antoine (c. 1430-1492)

French composer. He was a pupil of Jean de Ockeghem and was in the service of the Burgundian court until 1482, when he became music director at the Church of Saint-Sauveur in Bruges.

Works

two Masses, Magnificat, hymns, 61 songs for three or four voices; motets, including Fortunata desperata, used later by Josquin des Préz.
