Button, (Richard) Dick (1929– )

US ice skater. He was five-time world champion 1948–52, and gold medal winner in the 1948 and 1952 Olympics. As an innovative competitor and as a commentator for ABC television, he was instrumental in popularizing the sport in the USA.

He was born in Englewood, New Jersey.
