Céleste, Céline

Céleste, Céline (1814–1882)

French dancer and actor. She performed in New York, Liverpool, and London. Her finest part was that of Miami in Green Bushes 1845 by John Buckstone (1802–1879). She was manager of the Adelphi Theatre, London, with Ben Webster, and subsequently of the Lyceum. She retired in 1870.
