Céspedes, Pablo de

Céspedes, Pablo de (1548–1608)

Spanish painter, sculptor, and architect. He studied under the brothers Zuccaro in Rome, where he copied Michelangelo and Raphael Sanzio, returning to Spain in 1575. He produced crowded religious pictures in a Mannerist style, of which his Last Supper (Museo de Bellas Artes, Seville) is characteristic.
