config.sys

In computing, the configuration file used by the MS-DOS and OS/2 operating systems. It is read when the system is booted. It is used to load device drivers and set certain parameters used by the operating system.

If the system needs to be restored from CD, the real-mode device drivers for both the card and the CD-ROM will need to reside on the emergency disk and be mentioned properly in the CONFIG.
