All serum and CSF samples were screened for JEV-specific immunoglobulin M (IgM) and IgG by using an in-house dipstick ELISA that incorporated nitrocellulose as the solid phase. We describe a case of an infracochlear CSF leak that developed following the retrosigmoid resection of an acoustic neuroma. Blows to the head would cause significantly more damage if CSF weren't there to absorb and diffuse the impact. |
