Cachemaille, Gilles (1951- )

Swiss bass-baritone. He studied at Lausanne and sang in concert from 1978 (at the Aix and Salzburg Festivals, and in Tokyo and Buenos Aires). His opera debut was in the stage premiere of Les Boréades by Rameau, at Lyon in 1982. His Mozart roles include Guglielmo at Lausanne, and Figaro, Papageno, and Leporello at Houston, Hamburg, and Vienna. In 1994 he sang Don Giovanni at the Glyndebourne Festival.
