Caerlaverock Castle

Ruined triangular fortification in Dumfries and Galloway unitary authority, Scotland, on the Solway Firth, about 10 km/6 mi southeast of Dumfries. Dating from the 13th century, the castle contains some fine 17th-century Renaissance buildings.
