Cahill, Teresa

Cahill, Teresa (1944– )

English soprano. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, in London, and made her debut in 1967 as Rosina with the Phoenix Opera. She sung at Glyndebourne and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, from 1970, and later appeared with the Welsh National Opera and the Scottish Opera. In 1977 she was heard as Alice Ford at Glyndebourne, and in 1990 she sang Strauss's Daphne for the Chelsea Opera. She has recorded roles in Calisto, Cendrillon, Le Nozze di Figaro/The Marriage of Figaro, and Der Rosenkavalier/The Knight of the Rose (Sophie).
