Cahora Bassa Dam

Hydroelectric plant in west Mozambique, created as a result of the damming of the Zambezi River to form a reservoir 230 km/144 mi long. The dam is 171 m/560 ft high and 303 m/994 ft wide. Cahora Bassa has a generating capacity of 2,075 MW, supplying power to Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
